Charlie Notley
Charlie graduated in 2018 with a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Plymouth. Having taken Water Management as an optional course module he has a keen interest in hydraulics, hydrology and urban drainage.
Charlie took an industrial placement year based at an innovative water treatment works and was fortunate enough to gain experience in both contracting and consulting. During his placement he undertook a variety of challenging tasks which further developed his problem solving and communication skills. Charlie has also gained experience of working with statutory bodies while undertaking various planning and consultation processes.
During his final academic year Charlie wrote his dissertation on future reservoir resilience. As part of this project he developed a computational model to implement the retrofitting of existing reservoirs.
Charlie joined Airey & Coles in August 2018 and naturally joined the civils works team. He continues to further develop his knowledge and experience of drainage design and has been introduced to highway design. His interests in many aspects of the water industry are apparent in his attention to detail in developing and incorporating SuDS into his design solutions.
