Richard is one of Airey & Coles’ Associates, who joined the company in 2016. Richard has over 8 years of experience and excels at structural design, graphical dissemination of information and interpersonal communications that form key professional relationships, all in his pursuit of building excellence.

His undergraduate studies were conducted at The University of Southampton, where he graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering.

Following graduation, Richard’s thirst for adventure led him to spend many years travelling the world, including Slovakia, India, China, Myanmar, and Indonesia. During this time, he gained his PADI Divemasters in Thailand, developed a motorcycle ambulance for a charity in Cambodia, and worked as a cowboy in Australia.

Richard hung up his travelling boots in 2012 and decided to build on his educational experiences with 2 master’s degrees, with the latter, a distinction from The University of Plymouth in Civil Engineering. After graduation, Richard worked as a graduate structural engineer for GGA Fairhurst in their Taunton office, before moving to Airey & Coles.
